How to Apply Your Puff Embroidered Hat Transfer

What You’ll Need

• Hat heat press (preferred)
• Trucker hat or canvas hat
• Teflon or silicone pressing sheet
• Scissors (optional, for loose threads)

Heat Press Settings

• Temperature: 325°F
• Pressure: Medium
• Time:30 seconds (pre-press)
• 25–30 seconds (final press)

If using a silicone sheet, you may need slightly more time since it absorbs heat.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Pre-Press the Hat (Do Not Skip)

• Place the blank hat on the press
• Press empty hat only for 30 seconds

✔️ This removes moisture and creates a flat, warm base

2. Prepare the Transfer

• Peel off only the white backing
• Leave the clear sticky carrier sheet attached
• Do not touch the adhesive more than necessary

3. Align the Design

• Center the transfer on the front of the hat
• Press lightly so the sticky sheet holds it in place
• Cover with a Teflon or silicone sheet

Pro Tip:
Use the decorative rope on the hat as a guide—align the bottom of the letters with the rope for a straight look.

4. Press the Design

• Press at 325°F
• Medium pressure
• 25–30 seconds

5. LET IT COOL (Most Important Step!)

🚨 Do not peel yet

• Remove the hat from the press
• Let it cool for at least 1 full minute
• The transfer should be barely warm before peeling

Peeling too soon can cause lifting or adhesive bleed.

6. Peel Gently

• Slowly peel the clear carrier sheet
• If you see a loose thread, snip it—don’t pull

If Something Lifts

• Stop peeling immediately
• Let the hat cool completely
• Cover with Teflon again
• Re-press 5–10 seconds only

❌ Never repress while hot

Important Notes

• These are not HTV/vinyl transfers
• Do not over-press
• Every heat press is slightly different—test first if unsure

After Application Care

• Wait 24 hours before wearing
• Spot clean only
• Do not machine wash or dry
